SOHO, NY — A Manhattan thief has been robbing high-end boutiques of thousands of dollars worth of fancy clothing in the last several weeks, according to police.
The thief is still on the loose after his string of crimes, police said Monday.
The man, who police have not identified, has lifted fancy clothing from three different stores since February, authorities said.
Police say the man’s stealing spree began Feb. 21, when he entered the Frame clothing store at 51 Greene St. in Soho and took a piece clothing valued at about $1,250. Several days later, on Feb. 25, the man stopped by the Tomas Maier store, located at 407 Bleecker St., and stole a leather jacket and a peacoat from the store, the NYPD said. Together the jackets were valued at about $4,890.
Most recently, the man went to the Sandro clothing store, located at 415 Bleecker St., and grabbed two handbags worth $575 from a display.
Police released surveillance photos of the man on Monday and working to identify and locate him.
